Job summary

Eaton Corporation invites a Technical Services Engineer to join our Power Distribution Systems and Services Division in Rowville. You will lead field engagements, provide expert MV diagnostics, perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities for MV equipment across the ANZ service partner network.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of MV switchgear experience, strong knowledge of protection relays and electrical measurements, and holds a non-restricted electrical license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of MV switchgear diagnostics and protection relay settings experience.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, SLDs and test reports.
• Strong safety awareness and hands-on field service experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert remote and on-site technical support for MV equipment across the ANZ service partner network
• Lead troubleshooting, diagnostics and resolution of complex MV product faults, including escalations
• Prepare commissioning, testing and maintenance documentation and SWMS
• Develop and deliver trainings for field technicians, ASPs and customers
• Guide technicians through commissioning, testing, maintenance and fault-finding
• Conduct installation assessments and verify MV equipment performance
• Perform and validate electrical measurements and data downloads
• Act as liaison between clients and ASPs and provide technical support
• Support service system improvements including CRM and case-management
• Collaborate with sales, service partners and customers to improve service delivery

We are seeking a Technical Services Engineer to join our Power Distribution Systems and Services Division in Rowville. This role combines leadership with direct field engagement, supporting training, commissioning, diagnostics, site testing, installation assessments, and electrical measurement activities for Medium Voltage (MV) equipment across the ANZ service partner network.

Key responsibilities

Provide expert remote and on-site technical support for Medium Voltage (MV) equipment across the ANZ service partner network

Lead troubleshooting, diagnostics and resolution of complex MV product faults, including escalations and field investigations

Prepare the commissioning, testing, and maintenance MOP / documentation, including work instructions, work packs, and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)

Develop the program and deliver trainings for internal Field Service Technicians (FSTs), Approved Service Providers (ASPs) and customers

Develop deep product expertise and guide technicians through commissioning, testing, maintenance and fault-finding activities

Conduct installation assessments as required and verify MV equipment performance against Eaton and customer standards

Perform, interpret and validate electrical measurements and data downloads from MV switchgear, protection relays and smart devices

Act as the key liaison between clients and ASPs, and providing technical support

Support implementation and continuous improvement of service systems, including CRM, ticketing and case-management tools

Collaborate with sales, service partners and customers to improve service delivery, drive customer satisfaction and enhance field capability

About you

5+ years of experience with MV switchgear diagnostics, protection relay settings, electrical measurements and data downloads from MV/LV smart devices

Strong technical understanding of equipment and safety standards of medium voltage, primary/secondary switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and protection systems

Hands on field service experience in commissioning, site testing, integrated testing, installation assessments and supervision of subcontractors or technicians

Ability to interpret electrical schematics, SLDs, protection coordination documentation and test reports

Strong electrical safety awareness (PPE, LOTO, switching procedures)

Proficiency with diagnostic tools and electrical measurement equipment

Good speaking, written and verbal skills

Good capability to work with Microsoft applications

Holds a non-restricted Electrical Licenses

Electrical contractor license, or willing obtain for QTP of business
