Job summary

Located at our global head office in Kilsyth, Melbourne, ARB Corporation Ltd seeks a quality professional to establish, maintain and improve quality standards across the manufacturing lifecycle for ARB and OE products. You will lead proactive quality planning, manage risks, drive improvements and enhance product quality, manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will bring 5+ years in automotive quality, strong APQP/PFMEA/DFMEA/PPAP know-how, and a collaborative,

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of quality engineering or quality assurance experience in automotive/manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, DFMEA and PPAP methodologies.
  • Experience leading cross-functional root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Advanced Quality Planning activities for ARB and OE products.
  • Drive continuous improvement to enhance quality performance and FTTR.
  • Investigate non-conformances using structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
  • Support new product introductions with PFMEA development and control planning.
  • Monitor and report quality metrics, trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical guidance to production teams on quality standards and conformance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and suppliers to resolve issues proactively.

Role Overview:

Located at our global head office in Kilsyth, Melbourne, this position is responsible for establishing, maintaining and improving quality standards across the manufacturing lifecycle for ARB and Original Equipment (OE) automotive products. The role focuses on driving proactive quality planning, managing quality-related risks, leading root cause investigations, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead Advanced Quality Planning activities for new and existing ARB and OE products.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and First Time Throughput Rate (FTTR).

  • Investigate non-conformances and quality concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies, including 8D, 5-Why and Fishbone Analysis.

  • Support new product introduction activities through risk assessments, PFMEA development and control planning.

  • Monitor, analyse and report quality metrics, trends and improvement opportunities.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to production teams regarding quality standards and conformance requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and supplier partners to proactively resolve quality issues.


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and attributes:


  • 5+ years of quality engineering or quality assurance experience within an automotive, manufacturing, metal fabrication or lean manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PFMEA, DFMEA and PPAP methodologies.

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional root cause investigations and corrective action programs.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.

  • Sound understanding of GD&T.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Self-motivated and highly organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively with limited supervision.

  • Passion for quality, continuous improvement and delivering practical solutions.
