Join Qantas in Adelaide at our Product Innovation Centre as a Quality Engineer responsible for embedding quality practices across the software delivery lifecycle. You will ensure reliability, scalability, and strong customer experiences through manual and automated testing and modern QA techniques.

This role works within agile squads, collaborating with engineers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality digital solutions.

Competenze

• 3+ years in Quality Engineering, Test Automation or Software Testing in Agile delivery.
• Design and maintain high quality test cases with structured testing practices.
• Execute manual and automated testing across frontend and backend systems.
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright or Cypress.
• Experience with APIs and API testing tools such as REST Assured and Pact.
• Collaborate with engineers, BAs and stakeholders to plan test strategies.
• Contribute to test guides, data strategies and documentation.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join our Technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in embedding quality engineering practices across the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring our applications perform at the highest standards of reliability, scalability and customer experience.

Working within agile squads, you will contribute to both manual and automated testing, strengthen our test frameworks, and collaborate closely with engineers, product owners and stakeholders to deliver innovative and high‑quality digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities And What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years' experience in a Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Testing role, ideally within Agile delivery environments
• Design, create and maintain high quality test cases using tools such as Jira Zephyr, applying structured testing practices and attention to detail
• Execute manual and automated testing across frontend and backend systems, ensuring comprehensive end to end coverage and product reliability for customer facing applications
• Perform functional, regression and end to end (E2E) testing, leveraging strong knowledge of testing methodologies and best practices
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks and test suites using modern tools such as Playwright or Cypress, contributing to improved coverage, efficiency and continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines
• Experience working with APIs and API testing tools such as REST Assured and Pact (contract testing)
• Collaborate with engineers, business analysts and stakeholders to plan and execute test strategies, including risk identification and mitigation
• Contribute to documentation such as test guides, knowledge articles and test data strategies to support quality outcomes
• Apply modern quality engineering techniques including BDD practices, coding standards and participation in automation code reviews
• Bring strong stakeholder engagement, agile delivery experience and a proactive, detail oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Splunk and Datadog desirable
