Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a QA Manager to lead quality assurance on a major commercial electrical project. You will work with project management, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients to drive quality outcomes across the lifecycle.

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will oversee QA/QC, develop QMS documents, coordinate inspections and audits, and drive continuous improvement for successful handover.

Qualifications

• Proven QA leadership in commercial construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of QA processes, ITPs, NCRs and audits.
• Understanding of Australian Standards and ISO 9001 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance and quality control across a major commercial electrical project.
• Develop and maintain Quality Management Plans, ITPs, commissioning plans and quality documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, hold points and witness points to ensure compliance.
• Manage NCRs, defects, corrective actions and quality issues through to close-out.
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate client, consultant and external audits.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quality documentation and performance.
• Provide practical quality advice to project and site teams, engineers and subcontractors.
• Maintain quality reporting, records and KPIs while driving continuous improvement.

An established electrical contractor is seeking an experienced QA Manager to support the delivery of a major commercial new-build project.

This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with project management, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients to drive quality outcomes across the project.

About the Role Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, you will oversee quality assurance and quality control throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring works comply with approved designs, specifications, contractual requirements and relevant Australian Standards.

• Lead quality assurance and quality control across a major commercial electrical project.

• Coordinate inspections, testing, hold points and witness points to ensure compliance with project requirements.

About You

• Strong QA experience within commercial construction, ideally electrical.
• Previous experience as a QA Manager, Quality Manager or Senior QA.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, ITPs, NCRs and audits.
• Sound understanding of Australian Standards, construction requirements and ISO 9001.
• Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant construction, engineering or quality qualifications and ISO 9001 Lead Auditor experience are desirable.
