Job summary

Planned Resources is seeking a Quality / Systems Engineer for Building Services to oversee QA across commercial, data centre and other projects. You will develop and maintain ITPs and SOPs, conduct site audits and drive CAPA programs, ensuring inspection points and acceptance criteria are met.

The role requires a tertiary engineering degree and 3+ years in quality engineering within construction or electrical building services, with a focus on root-cause analysis and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience as a Quality Engineer in construction or related environments.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems in construction/engineering delivery.
• Experience preparing and auditing inspection and test plans (ITP) and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the master ITP library with consistent inspection points and acceptance criteria.
• Create SOPs with owners, revision control and review dates.
• Conduct weekly site quality audits and raise non-conformances.
• Close out corrective actions and update ITP/SOP to prevent recurrence.
• Report cost-of-quality trends and identify high-impact causes.

About the role: We are looking for a Quality Systems Engineer who has experience overseeing Quality systems for a range building services / Construction projects incorporating (Power & lighting, power supply, Mission Critical) within the building / electrical industry. The role will see you involved in developing and maintaining inspection and test plans (ITP's) on small, medium and large scale buildings & Data Centre programs for a range of clients.

Key duties of the role:

• Develop and maintain the master ITP library, with consistent inspection points, evidence requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Convert proven work methods into controlled SOPs with named owners, revision control and review dates.
• Tailor generic ITPs and SOPs to contract requirements, drawings, project risks and commissioning needs before mobilisation.
• Conduct weekly site quality audits, sampling installed work against the governing ITP.
• Raise non-conformance reports against agreed thresholds and complete root-cause analysis.
• Close out corrective actions and update the relevant ITP, SOP or pre-start so failures are not repeated.
• Capture the cost of poor quality (lost hours, materials and programme impact) at the point the issue occurs.
• Report cost-of-quality trends and target the causes with the highest commercial impact.

Skills and experience

• Relevant Tertiary / Degree qualifications in Engineering discipline
• 3 + years' experience as a Quality Engineer working in a Construction related environment
• Strong understanding of quality management systems in construction or engineering delivery.
• Experience preparing and auditing inspection and test plans and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions through to close-out.
• Competence interpreting drawings, specifications and contract quality requirements.
• Experience with digital quality platforms and with quality reporting.
• Ability to show initiative and problem solve
• Experience working on Electrical / Building Services projects or programs useful but not essential.
