Job summary

Bailey Abbott Pty Ltd is seeking a Test Manager to lead quality and testing across a large ICT program in Darwin. You will manage testing services, ensure comprehensive test plans, and collaborate with project managers to deliver high-quality project outputs.

The role requires demonstrable Test Management experience, team leadership, and a strong understanding of testing methodologies. This is a Darwin-based position with a 12-month contract and close interaction with stakeholders across vendors

About the Role

Our Darwin based client is looking for a Quality & Testing Manager. You will be required to manage testing services for a large in-flight program. This role will also support Project Managers and leads in ensuring that appropriate complete test plans are in place and delivered on to ensure the quality of project products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of permanent and contract staff in the delivery of required services.
• Work with the quality and testing team members to prioritise test work packages across projects.

• Oversee and proactively manage all issues that impede test efforts.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Test Manager / Senior Test Lead on a large ICT program.
• Demonstrated track record in managing one or more teams to deliver testing services in a program setting.
• Demonstrated ability to articulate the objectives of a successful quality and testing function.
• Expert knowledge and understanding of quality and testing management methodology, techniques and frameworks.
• Ability to identify and describe the tactics necessary to ensure that testing outcomes meet the customer requirements of the program.
• Ability to lead a team so that testing requirements at a functional and technical level are presented in natural language so they can be understood by all stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in reviewing and validating project test plans, scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycle and associated project management methodology, techniques and frameworks.
• High level of leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to take a lead role in engagement across business, vendor and program stakeholders.
• Experience in Test Management and Test Automation methods and tools.
• Written communication - demonstrated ability to prepare plans, presentations and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language; edit written communications to ensure they contain the information necessary to achieve their purpose and meet audience needs.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in a Test Manager / Senior Test Lead role.
• An understanding of the Australian National Safety and Quality Health Services (NSQHS) Standards.
• An understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management and its use in an organisation. Experience working in a large scale/ multi-year program environment will be well regarded.
• Health industry experience and general familiarity with clinical terminology, data and systems will be well regarded.
• Possess relevant certification such as ISTQB. Experience in testing activities for a COTS based solution.
• Experience with SmartBear - TestComplete automation tool

Required Clearances:

• National Police Check
• Working with Children (OCHRE)
