Job summary

Trentham Groundworks in Trentham, Victoria is seeking a Casual Gardener to maintain and enhance client gardens and landscapes. You will follow lead gardeners' instructions and work autonomously when needed.

Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, weeding, pruning, planting, pest and disease management, irrigation installation, and reading landscape plans. A strong horticultural background and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in horticulture or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrated expertise in garden maintenance and landscaping techniques
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Strong knowledge of Australian native and exotic plants, their care and growth requirements
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and designs
• Proficient in the safe operation of gardening equipment and tools
• Good physical fitness to undertake manual gardening tasks
• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Full manual drivers licence

• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and assist colleagues as needed
• Be proactive in identifying any issues with any aspect of clients properties we interact with and either actioning or notifying management of these as appropriate
• Installation of irrigations systems
• Installation of landscape designs as directed

Job description

The Casual Gardener position will involve maintaining and enhancing the beautiful gardens and landscaping on clients properties and is required following instructions of the lead gardeners as well as working autonomously from time to time.
