Qualifications

• Formal qualification in baking and/or pastry chef training from a recognised culinary institution or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Proven experience working in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients and food safety practices.
• Experience with artisan breads, croissants or wedding cakes is preferred.

We are seeking a Qualified Baker/Pastry Chef to join the team at Bake My Life. This is a casual position based in Ballina, NSW.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and baking a variety of bread, cakes, pastries and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards
• Creating specialty pastries and decorative baked items, ensuring presentation meets company standards
• Operating and maintaining baking equipment, including ovens, mixers and proofing chambers
• Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent quality and food safety
• Preparing ingredients, including measuring, mixing and preparing doughs and batters
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the baking area and kitchen
• Working collaboratively with other team members to meet daily production targets
• Adhering to all food safety regulations and best practices

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in baking and/or pastry chef training from a recognised culinary institution or equivalent hands‑on experience
