Job summary

Outlook Australia is seeking an accomplished Manager to lead a geographically dispersed Queensland portfolio, overseeing transfer stations, reuse shops and future ventures. You will drive people leadership, safety, compliance and financial performance across 100+ staff, with extensive travel across Mackay, Emerald and Gladstone regions.

Reporting to a senior executive, you will coach managers, build strong stakeholder relationships with councils and partners, and identify opportunities to grow

An accomplished experienced Manager is sought to lead a geographically dispersed Queensland portfolio. Reporting to a senior executive, you will be accountable for people leadership and development, operational performance (including safety and compliance), contracts, assets, partnerships and sustainable growth across transfer stations, reuse shops and future strategic business ventures.

The role requires extensive weekly travel throughout Queensland with the majority being in an area covered by Mackay to the North; Emerald to the West and Gladstone to the South – residing in this triangle will be essential to your success.

Your mandate

• Coach and develop Contract Managers, and emerging leaders
• Lead a complex, multi-site Queensland operations and create consistent standards across locations.
• Accept responsibility for the financial performance, budgets, contracts, safety, compliance, assets and operational risk of the State-wide operation.
• Build and nurture trusted relationships with local councils, government departments, customers, industry bodies and partners.
• Research and Identify new business opportunities and support portfolio growth and diversification.
• Oversee new sites, transitions and improvement projects.
• Embed physical and psychological safety, quality, information security and customer service in each of the 100 plus employees across all sites
• Connect Queensland with the National organisation, building alignment around shared values and purpose and jointly creating growth opportunities
• Be a genuine, empathetic leader who invests the time to truly understand the uniqueness of each employee and assist them to personally grow and develop.

What you will bring

• A track record of developing managers and creating inclusive, accountable teams.

• Strong commercial judgement and evidence of improving financial, contract and operational performance.
• Business development and proactive stakeholder relationships. The resilience and practical judgement to lead diverse frontline operations through growth and change.
• A high level of EQ and resilience to handle the challenges of a diverse workforce
• A current Queensland driver’s licence and understanding of requirement to travel.

Experience in social enterprise, Not-for-Profits, waste management, recycling or resource recovery will be valued but is not essential. Leaders from logistics, 3PL, warehousing, infrastructure, industrial services or similar operational sectors with exceptional leadership capability and proven success in building high performing teams are encouraged to apply.
