Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Australia is seeking a QC Scientist for Physiochemistry & Raw Material at our Brisbane site. The role focuses on testing, release, and quality control of raw materials within GMP-compliant processes.

You will provide technical expertise across physiochemistry testing and collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality and Manufacturing to ensure data integrity and continuous improvement. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in a related field and at least 2 years in

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Chemistry or closely related field.
At least 2 years’ experience in biopharmaceutical and/or pharmaceutical industry aligned to Analytical and Quality Control.
Strong background in analytical theory and technical competency with laboratory analysis.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee raw material sampling, testing and release per GMP.
Apply physiochemistry testing techniques and instruments (pH, conductivity, TOC, osmolality).
Interpret analytical results against procedures and specs with scientific rationale.
Assist with testing records, customer requirements and Quality System requirements.
Peer and technical review of data and test records for accuracy and data integrity.
Support review/approval of test records with Team Leader/ Supervisor.
Identify and report non-conformances and OOS/UR results to leadership.
Apply Quality System practices across site manufacturing services.
Assist with risk assessments and CAPA, deviations, OOS and OOT processes.
Contribute to site PPI projects and other duties as directed.
