Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Australia in Brisbane is seeking a Senior QC Technician – Physiochemistry & Raw Material to join our quality team. You will perform analytical testing, record results and ensure cGMP compliance in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

You will work with wet chemistry techniques (pH, conductivity, osmolality, TOC, LOD, titration, Karl Fischer, FTIR/RAMAN) and support documentation, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Tertiary academic in a relevant field (Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of cGMP practices preferred.
• Experience in pharmaceutical industry aligned to Analytical/Quality Control.
• Background in analytical theory and laboratory analysis desirable.
• Aseptic techniques knowledge would be advantageous.
• Strong communication across multiple modalities (electronic, written, verbal).
• Ability to balance multiple projects and proactivity in tasks aligned to company objectives.
• Strong teamwork and collaborative skills; familiarity with Smartsheets is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing using wet chemistry and instrumentation (pH, Conductivity, Osmolality, TOC, LOD, titrations, Karl Fischer, FTIR, RAMAN).
• Assess analyses and document results for customer needs.
• Sample raw materials in controlled environments.
• Peer review and approve analyses for completeness and accuracy.
• Identify and report non-conformances and out-of-spec results to leadership.
• Apply QC principles to site manufacturing services.
• Work in a dynamic environment across multiple projects.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives (PPI) to reduce inefficiencies.
