Mount Scopus Memorial College in Melbourne seeks a PYP Coordinator and Pedagogy Coach to drive the IB Primary Years Program from ELC to Year 6 across St Kilda East, Caulfield South and Burwood. This is a full-time permanent role commencing Term 1, 2027, aimed at improving teaching practice and student engagement.

The successful candidate will have VIT registration, a coaching qualification, and deep IB PYP knowledge, with proven classroom excellence and a commitment to high-impact teaching

Qualifications

• Must have Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration.
• Recognised coaching qualification and coaching experience.
• Highly experienced classroom practitioner with exceptional teaching practice.
• Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment framework.
• Experience with IB PYP and commitment to IB Standards and practices.
• Understanding and implementation of high-impact teaching strategies.
• Commitment to inclusive education and student safety standards.

Responsibilities

Mount Scopus Memorial College is a leading co-educational Jewish School from Early Learning to Year 12 across three campuses; St Kilda East, Caulfield South and Burwood.

We are seeking a suitable and experienced educator in the position of PYP Coordinator and Pedagogy Coach in our Primary School to work across all three campuses. This is a full-time permanent position commencing from Term 1, 2027.

Reporting to the Deputy Principal (Primary), the PYP Coordinator and Pedagogy Coach (Primary) is accountable for coordinating the PYP from ELC to year 6. Representing the PYP and bringing knowledge and experience to discussions on the curriculum team. Leading, supporting and modelling the IB Primary Years Program. Promotes excellence in teaching by supporting teachers in planning for effective teaching, using high impact strategies and assessing learning. Supports and coaches teachers in the classroom to develop best practice for student engagement and learning.

The successful candidate:

Must have Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration

Recognised qualification in and experience of coaching

Must be a highly experienced classroom practitioner with a proven track record of exceptional teaching practice

Must be an educator who understands and implements high impact teaching strategies and possess a strong knowledge of current best practice in education

Must have a strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment framework

Must have experience in IB PYP with a strong knowledge of and commitment to the IB Standards and practices, particularly in relation to the approaches to teaching and approaches to assessment.
