Norwest Recruitment is seeking a Purchasing Officer for an immediate eight-week contract in Castle Hill, Sydney. The role focuses on turning requisitions into purchase orders, managing supplier communications, and maintaining ERP data with attention to accuracy.

You will work independently in a busy environment, handling local and international suppliers while supporting inventory accuracy. Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or related sectors is valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years purchasing or procurement experience.
• Solid experience converting requisitions to POs and managing orders.
• Strong data accuracy and ERP system proficiency.
• Good communication and organization under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Convert requisitions into accurate purchase orders.
• Check pricing, drawings, specs and order details.
• Expedite orders and maintain delivery dates.
• Keep ERP data accurate and up to date.
• Communicate with local and international suppliers.
• Support inventory accuracy and resolve stock discrepancies.
• Assist with supplier records and cost reviews.
• Review freight, customs and landed cost docs.
• Coordinate international shipments and general purchasing admin.
