Job summary

Glencore’s Hail Creek Open Cut is seeking a safety-focused mining professional with proven equipment proficiency across Dozers, Loaders, Graders, and Excavators. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to procedures, and the ability to work in a remote, physically demanding environment.

You will join a team committed to operational excellence and safe outcomes, with a 7 on / 7 off day shift roster and direct employment with Glencore, complemented by a competitive remuneration

About You

You are a safety focused professional with a strong commitment to operational excellence and teamwork. You thrive in challenging environments and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will demonstrate:

• Demonstrated competency in a minimum of three (3) types of production equipment within an open-cut mining environment, including Dozers, Loaders, Graders and Excavators.
• A strong commitment to safety and risk management.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to work effectively in remote and physically demanding environments.
• A high level of attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures and instructions.
• The ability to collaborate with diverse workgroups to achieve safe and efficient outcomes.
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing site conditions and operational requirements.

This role offers the flexibility to live locally or utilise our modern onsite accommodation village. Hail Creek Open Cut is located approximately one hour from Mackay and provides convenient access to the Whitsunday region, including Airlie Beach and the Whitsunday Islands. Our workforce travels from across Queensland, including Mackay, Rockhampton, and Townsville, making Hail Creek a well-connected and accessible operation.
