Job summary

Glencore’s Hail Creek operation seeks a Purchasing Officer to join our procurement team. You will support a sustainable mining operation by delivering safe, cost-effective procurement services, maintaining ERP records, and expediting orders as needed.

Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, you will liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure timely delivery. A Certificate III/IV in Procurement or related field and 2+ years in purchasing are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline
• 2+ years’ experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or procurement role, ideally in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry

Responsibilities

• Providing safe and cost-effective procurement services that supports a sustainable mining operation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a key member of the team and reporting directly to the Procurement Coordinator, this multifaceted role will see you responsible for:

• Providing safe and cost-effective procurement services that supports a sustainable mining operation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.
• Daily activities include purchase requisition conversion, purchase order updating, overdue order expediting, invoice reconciliation, supplier liaison and end-user support.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Certificate III/IV in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline
