Job summary

Glencore at Hail Creek Open Cut invites you to join as a Purchasing Officer to support a sustainable mining operation with safe, cost-effective procurement. You will report to the Procurement Coordinator and manage requisitions, PO updates, overdue orders, invoice reconciliation, and supplier liaison.

The ideal candidate holds a Certificate III/IV in Procurement and has 2+ years’ experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in mining or heavy industry.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years’ experience in a purchasing, supply chain, or procurement role, ideally in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and cost-effective procurement services for a mining operation.
• Maintain accurate procurement records in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Handle requisitions, PO updates, overdue orders, invoice reconciliation, supplier liaison, and end-user support.

Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Purchasing Officer to join our dynamic and successful team. As a key member of the team and reporting directly to the Procurement Coordinator, this multifaceted role will see you responsible for:

• Providing safe and cost-effective procurement services that supports a sustainable mining operation.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to clarify purchasing requirements and ensure timely delivery of goods/services.
• Daily activities include purchase requisition conversion, purchase order updating, overdue order expediting, invoice reconciliation, supplier liaison and end-user support.

About the Candidate

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

• Certificate III/IV in Procurement, Business Administration, or a related discipline
