Job summary

Wholesale Food Group on the Gold Coast is hiring a full-time, entry-level Purchasing Officer to support production through efficient purchasing and inventory control.

You will raise purchase orders, source ad-hoc items, and ensure procurement processes are followed using CIN7, Excel, Word and Outlook. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Working Monday–Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, with no weekend work, this role suits a detail-oriented team player eager to grow in procurement.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as Purchasing Officer or similar role (entry-level)
• Proficiency with CIN7 Inventory system to manage stock and orders
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends is a plus

Wholesale Food Group is a leading food manufacturer in Australia, specializing in gourmet Mediterranean-inspired foods and custom private label food products for food brand owners, retailers, and distribution companies. Since 1996, they have served a diverse range of local and national B2B customers across various industries and international clients. Their Gold Coast, Queensland location has been a hub for high-quality food manufacturing services and gourmet products.

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Entry-Level Purchasing Officer to join our team. Monday to Friday - 7am to 3.30pm. No Weekend Work!!

This role will include duties such as:

• Raising purchase orders to purchase goods and services to ensure production schedules are achieved on time.
• Source and purchase ad-hoc consumable and one off items from time to time and as directed.
• Ensuring compliance is met with procurement processes and policies.
• Assisting with the preparation of tenders and negotiation of contracts for the supply of goods.
• Coordinating delivery of goods and to maintain inventory control activity with warehouse staff. This may include assisting with good receipt activities and functions in CIN 7 inventory system.
• Maintain supplier pricing files within CIN 7 to ensure purchase price and therefore Cost of Goods accuracy.
• Prepare and forecast annual material prices to enable future budget preparations.
• Assist with warehouse stock counting requirements as necessary.
• Manage inventory levels in line with company requirements and targets.
• Ensuring stock accuracy by conducting stock counts on a cyclic and regular basis.

What we are looking for:

• 1 years experience as a Purchasing Officer or in a similar role within a procurement or supply chain environment highly desirable. THIS IS AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION.
• Proficiency in the use of CIN7 Inventory system to manage stock levels, track orders, and generate inventory reports or other inventory system experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask and have a keen eye for detail.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of procurement best practices and industry trends is a plus.
