Job summary

Tradezone Pty Ltd is seeking a Purchasing/Inventory Planner to support the purchasing team and category leads with day-to-day purchasing activities and inventory planning. You will manage purchase orders and ensure stock availability across our broad product range, working closely with suppliers, freight providers, and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate inventory levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchasing, Procurement or Inventory Support roles is essential.
• Exposure to Solar or related industries is advantageous.
• Proficient with Excel (XLOOKUP and PivotTables) and ERP/inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Forecasting and replenishment planning; container planning and optimisation.
• Forward order planning against lead times; manage stock cover and shortages/excess.
• Raising and maintaining international purchase orders with accurate pricing and dates.
• Follow up with suppliers on orders, deliveries and stock availability.
• Monitor open POs and update delivery dates.
• Assist with stock replenishment and transfers between centers.
• Coordinate overseas purchasing with international suppliers.
• Monitor international shipments, lead times and schedules.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight providers, warehouses and internal teams.
• Maintain product, supplier and purchasing data in systems.
• Assist with reporting, stock analysis and purchasing administration.
• Identify and escalate stock shortages and delays.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Purchasing/Inventory Planner you will play a key role in supporting the wider purchasing team and category leads with day-to-day purchasing activities, including purchase order management and inventory planning, to ensure the products our customers need are available when and where they are needed.

You will work closely with suppliers, freight providers, and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate inventory levels, support product availability and ensure stock is managed effectively across our diverse product range

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Forecasting and replenishment planning. Container planning and optimisation.
• Forward order planning against lead times. Manage stock cover and identifying future shortages/excess.
• Raising and maintaining international/overseas purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, quantities and delivery dates.
• Following up with suppliers on outstanding orders, delivery schedules and stock availability.
• Monitoring open purchase orders and updating expected delivery dates.
• Assisting with stock replenishment and internal stock transfers between distribution centers.
• Supporting overseas purchasing, including coordinating orders with international suppliers.
• Monitoring international shipments, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Liaising with suppliers, freight providers, warehouses and internal teams to resolve purchasing and stock enquiries.
• Maintaining accurate product, supplier and purchasing information in our systems.
• Assisting with reporting, stock analysis and general purchasing administration.
• Identifying and escalating potential stock shortages, supply delays and discrepancies.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience in a Purchasing, Procurement or Inventory Support roles is essential.
• Any exposure or experience in the Solar industry is highly advantageous.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and PivotTables. Your Excel knowledge is a non-negotiable.
• Proficiency in ERP or inventory management systems.
• Commercial supplier relationship, negotiations, pricing, range decisions and category strategy experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience with overseas purchasing, importing and international supply chains.
• Sound understanding of purchasing, stock replenishment and supply chain processes
• Ability to prioritise tasks and thrive in fast-paced environment
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
