Job summary

NHS Trade is seeking an organised and reliable Purchasing Officer for a 6 month fixed term contract in Newcastle, NSW. The role focuses on coordinating purchasing, maintaining stock records and ensuring products are available to support operations.

The position requires 30 hours per week, with Mondays full day and some flexibility for remaining hours across the week. You will work with warehouse and branch teams to optimise stock levels and supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing and inventory control.
• Ability to maintain accurate purchasing records.
• Strong supplier communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with ERP or purchasing systems and MS 365 apps.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate special-order and replenishment purchasing.
• Place and maintain purchase orders and ensure data accuracy.
• Follow up outstanding orders and supplier deliveries.
• Monitor delivery dates and communicate delays to teams.
• Review stock availability before placing new orders.
• Run purchasing, replenishment and inventory reports.
• Maintain product, supplier and purchase records.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve stock issues.
• Support Goods Inwards and cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate supplier returns and credits.
