Job summary

Big River Group is seeking a motivated Purchasing Assistant to join our Crestmead manufacturing team. You will work closely with the Purchasing, Production and Operations teams to ensure materials are ordered, tracked and available to support manufacturing requirements.

Full training and development will be provided to the successful candidate. This role offers hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment and provides a pathway into purchasing, inventory management and supply chain

Qualifications

• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
• Experience in administration, purchasing, inventory control or supply chain environments (desirable).
• Experience using ERP or purchasing systems will be highly regarded; however, full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Raise and process purchase orders.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and follow up outstanding orders.
• Maintain supplier records, pricing schedules and purchasing documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding orders, lead times and delivery schedules.
• Support production and operations teams with purchasing requirements.
• Track incoming materials and update purchasing systems and records.
• Prepare reports, spreadsheets and procurement documentation.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing processes.
