Job summary

Total Fire Solutions is seeking a Pump Fitter to join our Mount Thorley and Heatherbrae operations. The role involves maintenance, servicing, repairs and installation of pumps across mining, industrial and commercial sites, with time split between workshop and field work.

Responsibilities include planned maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response, and project work. A Monday–Friday schedule with overtime opportunities and a monthly RDO is offered along with benefits and a supportive team

Qualifications

• Requires Mechanical Trade Qualification and relevant certification.
• Experience in installation or servicing sprinkler systems is preferred.
• Good understanding of applicable Australian standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, overhauls and servicing of pumps and pumping systems.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections across mining, industrial and commercial sites.
• Install, commission and test pumps, motors, and pipework.

Our team is comprised of specialist fire protection professionals, contractors, plumbers, sprinkler fitters and electricians who not only install, but also maintain and provide ongoing support for your fire protection system.

About the Role

We are currently seeking a Pump Fitter to join our growing team based between our Mount Thorley and Heatherbrae operations. This is a varied and hands on role responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair and installation of pumps and associated equipment across a diverse range of mining, industrial and commercial sites.

Working both in the workshop and in the field, you will be involved in planned maintenance, fault finding, breakdown response, equipment overhauls and project work. This role offers excellent variety, with opportunities to work across mining operations, industrial facilities and infrastructure projects throughout the Hunter Valley and surrounding regions.

The role is a Monday to Friday position working a minimum of 8 hours per day, with overtime opportunities available and a monthly RDO.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repairs, overhauls and servicing of pumps, pumping systems and associated mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose faults and undertake troubleshooting activities to identify and rectify mechanical issues efficiently.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections across mining, industrial and commercial facilities.
• Install, commission and test pumps, motors, pipework and associated equipment.

Experience and Qualifications

Mechanical Trade Qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade, Fitter and Turner, Mechanical Fitter or similar.

Previous experience in installation or servicing commercial and/or industrial sprinkler systems

Sound understanding of relevant standards

Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach

Valid driver’s licence and White Card
