Job summary

Effective People in Parkes, ACT is seeking a Project Manager - Building and Infrastructure to lead complex capital works for a federal government client. The role is based in Parkes with hybrid work arrangements and an initial contract to 30 June 2027, including super.

You will own budgets, manage risks, procurement, contracts and stakeholder coordination while ensuring safety, quality and value for money. Baseline clearance or above and Australian citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• You've managed building, construction, infrastructure or facilities projects in a complex operational environment.
• You've personally managed projects across planning, delivery, budgets, controls and risk.
• You've led procurement, tendering and contract administration.
• You can manage contractor performance while maintaining quality, safety and compliance.
• You work effectively with consultants, contractors, technical specialists and operational teams.
• You can obtain or hold current ACT Working with Vulnerable People registration before starting.
• You're an Australian citizen.
• You must hold a current Baseline clearance or above.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex building and infrastructure capital projects from planning through delivery
• Develop project plans and manage budgets, project controls, risks and quality
• Lead Commonwealth procurement, tender documentation and evaluation processes
• Administer contracts and service agreements and address contractor performance
• Work with operational teams, technical specialists, consultants and contractors
• Supervise project delivery, set priorities and support team capability
• Prepare reports, briefs, analysis and specialist project advice
• Improve project governance, reporting and delivery practices
• Coordinate works to minimise disruption to an operating public facility
