Job summary

Lime Recruitment is partnering with a large Queensland Government client to appoint a Project Director - TRAILS Modernisation in Brisbane. You will lead executive direction for a multi-year digital transformation, modernising registration and licensing systems to fit-for-purpose platforms.

You will coordinate six domain teams in a shared roadmap, translate complex requirements into practical plans, and ensure governance, risk, and performance oversight at executive levels.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading large-scale digital transformation programs.
• Experience modernising enterprise systems in government or complex environments.
• Proven governance, assurance, risk management, and executive reporting for multi-year programs.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive influencing capabilities.
• Hybrid delivery with PRINCE2/PRINCE2-equivalent governance and Agile/product delivery practices.

Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland Government client to recruit a Project Director - TRAILS Modernisation. In this role, you will provide executive leadership and transformation direction for a major multi-year digital transformation initiative, progressively transitioning legacy registration and licensing systems to modern, sustainable, and fit-for-purpose platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Provide clear strategic direction and accountable leadership for the progressive modernisation of the legacy registration and licensing technology environment.

Lead and align six multidisciplinary domain teams across business, technology, data, policy, and service delivery around a shared transformation roadmap and priorities.

Translate complex strategic intent, business, policy, service, data, and technical requirements into practical delivery plans, decisions, and sustainable outcomes.

Establish effective governance, planning, assurance, risk management, and performance disciplines supporting executive decision-making (aligned with PRINCE2, Agile, and QGEA frameworks).

Build strong relationships and maintain alignment across executives, governance bodies, business owners, technical specialists, and external delivery partners.

Actively resolve critical issues, dependencies, and delivery barriers across all domains while protecting service continuity, security, and regulatory obligations.

Drive operational readiness, business change, and knowledge transfer to strengthen internal capability and ensure sustainable ongoing operations.

About You

Extensive experience leading large-scale, complex digital transformation programs and modernising enterprise business systems within government or complex environments.

Proven track record managing multidisciplinary domain teams spanning technology, data, policy, business change, and service delivery.

Demonstrated success establishing governance, assurance, risk management, and executive reporting arrangements for multi-year programs.

Exceptional stakeholder management, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at executive levels and drive delivery momentum.

Strong experience operating in hybrid delivery models combining PRINCE2/PRINCE2-equivalent governance with Agile and product delivery practices.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or professional certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, MSP) are highly regarded.
