Mount Isa City Council is seeking a dedicated Environmental Health Professional to support Environmental Health Services in protecting public health and safety. You will contribute to regulatory compliance across food, public health and environmental protection while building strong relationships with the community and stakeholders.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health (or two years' regulatory experience), the ability to interpret legislation, plan a demanding

Qualifications

• Must have tertiary qualification in Environmental Health as approved by Environmental Health Australia and/or minimum of two years’ experience in an environmental health or regulatory/compliance role.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation (Food Act 2006, Public Health Act 2005, Environmental Protection Act 1994, Waste Reduction and Recycling Act 2011) and determine appropriate compliance approach.

Responsabilités

• Support Environmental Health Services in protecting public health and safety through programs relating to Environmental Health and compliance.
• Enhance council’s public image through responsive relationships and communication with community, business and stakeholders.
