Job summary

Council Jobs seeks an Environmental Health professional to support Environmental Health Services in protecting public health and safety through programs relating to environmental health, including regulatory compliance for food, public health and environmental protection.

The role will enhance the council’s public image through responsive relationships and effective communication with the community, businesses, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Must hold tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent with approval by Environmental Health Australia.
• Two years' experience in an environmental health or regulatory/compliance role is desirable.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and determine appropriate compliance approach.

Responsibilities

• Support Environmental Health Services in protecting public health and safety through programs relating to Environmental Health, including regulatory compliance regarding food, public health and environmental protection.
• Enhance the council’s public image through responsive and effective relationships and communication with the community, businesses and other stakeholders.
• Plan and prioritise a demanding workload, showing initiative to achieve objectives within deadlines.
