Job summary

Walgett Shire Council is seeking a Customer Service Officer for the Community Service Centre in Collarenebri. This frontline role handles customer service, library and visitor information services, and delivers agency services for Australia Post.

The ideal candidate will provide service across front counter, phone and online channels with strong communication, cash handling and records management skills. Walgett Shire values flexibility, teamwork and community focus.

Qualifications

• A genuine interest in customer service, administration, and library and visitor information centre services.
• Ability to process payments and handle cash, EFTPOS and digital transactions accurately, and to reconcile and account for funds.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on providing excellent service to customers and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and processes accurately.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook) and Content Manager/TRIM or similar records management system.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety, the Child Safe Standards, privacy requirements and customer service principles applicable to a public-facing role.
• Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain.
