Job summary

Austral Hotel in Mackay is seeking a driven Assistant Manager to lead the floor across a busy suburban pub. You’ll drive service excellence, manage multi-department operations, and maintain a warm, authentic hospitality vibe on every shift.

Ideal candidates bring experience in pubs/bistros/gaming, a track record in supervision, and current RSA/RSG, RMLV, and Approved Manager licences. This hands-on role requires physical tasks and a passion for delightful guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Hospitality professional with supervisory experience.
• RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Manager Licence required per state rules.
• Ability to lead a multi-department venue and deliver warm hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Get to know the locals and become part of the crew.
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly and safely.
• Learn the ropes of being a Publican while leading a team of hospo staff.
• Handle hiccups before they turn into headaches.
• Bring energy, service, and smiles on every shift.
