Job summary

Austral Hotel in Mackay invites a driven Assistant Manager to lead a busy floor across bistro, gaming, and retail spaces. You’ll drive guest service, mentor a multi-department team, and partner with the Publican to maintain a safe, vibrant pub environment.

Qualifications

• Must have hands-on hospitality leadership experience in bar, bistro or gaming room environments.
• Ability to supervise and train multi-department teams.
• RSA/RSG, RMLV and Approved Managers Licence are required by state rules.

Responsibilities

• Get to know locals and build rapport with regulars and staff.
• Support the Publican to keep the pub running smoothly, safely, and with a great vibe.
• Lead a team of hospitality staff and learn the ropes of being a Publican.
• Handle hiccups and prevent issues before they escalate.
• Bring energy, service, and smiles on every shift.
