Queensland Government is seeking a school-based psychologist for Emerald State High School to support students in Year 7–12 with mild to moderate mental health concerns. You will provide early intervention and therapies within the student support team, collaborating with educators and other professionals to boost wellbeing.

This term-4 role welcomes provisional and early-career psychologists, with structured supervision and internship/registrar program support.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic support for students with mild to moderate mental health support needs.

• Providing professional development opportunities for teachers and parents around mental health interventions and supports.
• Follow your professional code of ethics to maintain privacy and confidentiality of student information.

Your Opportunity

In this role, you'll work directly with students experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns, providing early intervention and therapeutic support that can make a real difference to their learning, engagement, and everyday wellbeing. You'll be part of the school's established student support team, working collaboratively with educators and other professionals to strengthen the support around each child and young person.

This position is well suited to provisional psychologists and early-career psychologists, with structured supervision provided. Supervision toward the internship program and clinical registrar program can also be supported. Students currently completing their studies are warmly encouraged to apply, making this a great opportunity to build experience, confidence, and impact in a supportive school-based environment.
