Job summary

ABRS is seeking an experienced Registered or Clinical Psychologist to support children, young people and families across Sydney within a not-for-profit setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver early intervention, allied health and family support services.

The role involves comprehensive psychological assessments, evidence-based interventions, and collaboration with families and educators. Flexible settings include clinic, home, schools and telehealth.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration is required.
• Experience with paediatrics, developmental needs or neurodevelopmental conditions is preferred.
• Strong assessment, formulation and evidence-based reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cognitive, behavioural, emotional and developmental assessments.
• Use standard tools (WPPSI, WISC, WIAT) and interpret results.
• Provide practical, evidence-based psychological interventions for children and families.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, educators and other health professionals to develop holistic plans.
• Manage own caseload with supervision and administrative support.
• Maintain thorough clinical records and participate in ongoing professional development.

You’ll join a collaborative multidisciplinary team alongside Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Specialist Teachers and other allied health professionals. As a Psychologist, you’ll support children and young people aged 0-18 years, working closely with families and other professionals to understand their needs and help them achieve meaningful outcomes.

You’ll have the flexibility to work across clinic, home, schools, community settings and telehealth, depending on what works best for each child and family. You’ll also be part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team alongside experienced allied health professionals.

What you’ll be doing:

• Complete psychological assessments across cognitive, behavioural, emotional and developmental areas.
• Use and interpret recognised assessment tools such as WPPSI, WISC and WIAT, with opportunities to further develop the psychology service.
• Provide practical, evidence-based psychological support and interventions for children, young people and families.
• Work alongside parents, carers, educators and allied health professionals to develop holistic approaches that support participation and wellbeing.
• Manage your own caseload, with support from experienced clinicians, leadership and administrative systems.
• Maintain clear clinical records and high professional standards.
• Get involved in workshops, student supervision and projects that contribute to the ongoing development of the psychology service.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a Psychologist who enjoys working with children and families in a variety of settings, including community and wants to be part of a supportive, collaborative allied health environment.

You’ll bring:

• A recognised Psychology qualification.
• CurrentAHPRA registration.
• Experience supporting children and young people, ideally within paediatrics, developmental disability, developmental delay or neurodevelopmental presentations.
• Confidence in psychological assessment, formulation and report writing.
• A genuine commitment to strengths-based, evidence-informed and neuroaffirming practice.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem‑solving skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively across a multidisciplinary team.
• An inclusive and culturally responsive approach to working with children and families.
• A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel within the community.
• Access to a vehicle with comprehensive insurance

You’ll also need a WWCC, National Police Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
