Serco is seeking Part-time Psychologists to join a multidisciplinary primary healthcare team supporting Defence members at Cairns Health Centre. You will deliver high-quality mental health care with no Medicare Billing, in a civilian role contributing to defence readiness.

The role features predictable hours, paid CPD leave, and on-site parking. Unrestricted AHPRA registration and at least two years post-graduate mental health experience are required, with focus on Focussed Psychological

Qualifications

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration required.
• Minimum two years post-graduate mental health experience within last five years in primary healthcare or specialist mental health settings.
• Experience with Focused Psychological Strategies and Psychological Therapy as per Medicare Schedule.
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009).
• Australian Citizenship required for baseline security clearance.

Responsabilités

• Deliver high-quality mental health care to Defence members onsite, Monday to Thursday 0730–1600.
• Conduct fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care.
• Undertake assessments, interventions, formulate treatment and care plans for individuals and group education sessions.
• Collaborate in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount.

About Cairns Health Centre

Cairns Health Centre is located at HMAS Cairns, on the northern shore of Trinity Inlet and close to the CBD of Cairns. Members mainly conduct border controls and responsibility extending from Rockhampton to Thursday Island, providing maintenance, logistic and administrative support for Cairns fleet-based units. The base is home to approximately 1000 Navy and civilian personnel providing primary medical, underwater medicine, dental, nursing, and mental health services. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Thursday depending on role requirements, and a half day (5.5 hours) Friday.

What You Bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA general registration as a Psychologist
• Minimum two years’ Post Graduate experience within last five yearsin mental health within a Primary Healthcare Setting or Specialist Mental Health Setting
• Comprehensive assessment skills and experience in ‘Focussed Psychological Strategies’ and ‘Psychological Therapy’ as per Medicare Schedule
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
