Job summary

Dazmac Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a hands-on Project & Specialised Cargo Coordinator to own specialised shipments from quote to delivery. You will price and plan boats, machinery and oversized cargo, and manage each job through to completion.

You’ll arrange bookings, coordinate lifting and securing, handle permits and escort needs, and work with our customs team on documentation to ensure smooth end-to-end shipments via RORO, flat rack and break bulk.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, shipping or logistics, ideally with RORO, flat rack, break bulk or project cargo.
• Ability to read cargo specs and dimensions and translate into shipping solutions.
• Strong attention to pricing accuracy and detail.
• Excellent communication with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to juggle several shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience with freight/CargoWise-type systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, competitive quotes for boats, machinery and oversized cargo.
• Determine the best shipping method (RORO, flat rack, break bulk or container) based on cargo dimensions, weight and route.
• Arrange bookings with shipping lines, agents, transport providers and depots.
• Coordinate lifting, lashing, securing and any permits or escorts.
• Manage shipments end to end, keeping customers updated at every stage.
• Work with our customs and quarantine team on documentation and clearance.
• Solve problems when schedules, vessels or cargo requirements change.
