  • Ability to work with stakeholders across technical and business teams.
  • Experience maintaining project financial records and supporting budget tracking.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to support the successful delivery of projects and programs within a dynamic project environment. Working closely with Project Managers and key stakeholders, you will provide project administration, coordination, reporting, governance, and financial support to ensure projects remain on track and deliver expected outcomes.

The successful candidate will contribute across various stages of the project lifecycle, assisting with planning, documentation, scheduling, risk management, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. You will also support project testing, evaluation activities, and governance processes while ensuring project records and artefacts are maintained to a high standard.

The Successful Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate experience supporting projects, programs, or portfolio delivery functions and possess a strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and governance practices.

You will bring:

  • Strong project coordination, administration, and reporting skills.
  • Experience preparing briefs, reports, submissions, and stakeholder communications.
  • The ability to assist with project planning, scheduling, tracking, and governance activities.
  • Knowledge of project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively with stakeholders across technical and business teams.
  • Experience maintaining project financial records and supporting budget tracking activities.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach with strong attention to detail.

Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location:

The role is based in Canberra ACT.

Contract terms:

12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions

Experience Level:

APS5 Equivalent

Security Requirements:

Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.

Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.
