Whizdom in Canberra is seeking an experienced PMO Assurance Officer to support assurance activities across a portfolio of complex programs. You will assess, monitor and report on risks, performance and benefits to drive informed decision‑making.
You will engage with diverse stakeholders, deliver clear evidence-based reports, and apply governance policies to ensure value delivery. This is an on‑site role with operational flex.

As a PMO Assurance Officer, you will support the delivery of assurance activities across a portfolio of complex programs and projects. Working within a dynamic Program Management Office, you will help assess, monitor and report on project performance, risks and outcomes to ensure intended benefits and value are achieved. You will contribute to a range of assurance functions including risk assurance, financial assurance, delivery health reviews, benefits assurance, and test and evaluation activities. The role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail and the ability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to gather, assess and report on information that supports informed decision-making.
You are an experienced PMO, governance or assurance professional with a strong understanding of project and program delivery within complex environments. You enjoy working across multiple stakeholders, can analyse information objectively and produce clear, evidence-based reporting and recommendations.
To be considered, candidates must be Australian Citizens with an active or reactivatable TSPV security clearance.
Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisional Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.
Location: The role can be performed from Canberra ACT, Brisbane QLD or Melbourne VIC.
Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions
Experience Level: Senior – EL1 Equivalent
Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not looking to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA (Organisational Suitability Assessment) will be required for this position.
Candidates will need to be willing to undergo pre-employment screening checks which may include, ID and work rights, security clearance verification and any other client requested checks.
