Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Project Officer for a fixed-term opportunity based in Cooma, NSW. The role supports the Maintenance Information Management team to deliver programs and projects, providing project management and technical support to achieve quality, compliant outcomes.

The position will coordinate resources, deliver project components on time and within budget, and provide guidance to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and organisational standards.

In this role, you'll:

• You will coordinate required resources and deliver project components to achieve scope, time, cost, quality, and client business objectives.
• You will provide technical guidance, solutions, evaluations, and audits to ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, policies, safety, environmental and organizational standards.
• You will work collaboratively across internal and external business areas, contributing and testing ideas to continuously improve work practices and project outcomes.
• You will contribute to organizational goals and values through effective teamwork, clear communication, and a strong focus on outcomes and deliverables.
• You will provide regular progress reporting to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, supporting transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making.

This is a fixed-term opportunity until 30 June 2028, with flexibility to be based at Grafton, Newcastle, Parkes, Milsons Point or Wagga. Other regional offices or depots may also be considered.

About you

• You have experience working independently within a team, effectively managing priorities and achieving deadlines.
• You’re skilled at assessing road asset information and applying technical and analytical expertise to support accurate, evidence-based decisions.
• You hold a current Australian motor vehicle driver licence and are willing to work outside normal hours and travel occasionally.
