Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Project Coordinator for the Opal Next Gen program in a hybrid role. Based at Par-ramatta Square or Macquarie Park, you will support project plans, resourcing, budgets and reporting to deliver complex projects on time and within scope.

You will work with Project Managers to monitor risk, issues and progress, focusing on execution, organisation and effective communication across a broad stakeholder network.

Qualifications

• At least 2–3 years experience as a Technology Project Coordinator/Project Officer including delivery of technology projects.
• Understanding of the systems delivery lifecycle and project management activities (status reports, risks & issues, schedules).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

In this role:

TheProject Coordinator(Opal Next Gen) will be responsible forsupportingtheplanning, project management and implementation of complex projectswithin the Opal Next Generation (ONG) programto ensure they deliver their keyproject outcomes, supporting the achievement ofoverall ONG programobjectives.

Working alongside Project Managers, you will provide support in carrying out a range of project management activities for one or more key ONG projects. This will include assisting in developing project plans, coordinating project resourcing, managing budgets, meeting reporting requirements, and supporting administrative project-related activities, ensuring project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards, in line with established agency project management methodologies.

You will monitor and evaluate all aspects of project implementation, including risk and issue management, project impact and quality measures, identifying and addressing issues, assessing project progress and effectiveness, and achieving project outcomes. Your focus will be very much on execution, organisation, and communication.

The Opal Next Gen program refers to the full modernisation of the Opal ticketing system to deliver smarter, digital-first, integrated public transport across NSW.

About You:

For you to be successful within this role you should meet all the following criteria:

• At least 2-3 years experience gained as a Technology Project Coordinator/Project Officer, assisting with the implementation of technology projects
• An understandingof the typical systems delivery project lifecycle and associated projectmanagementactivities (status reporting, risks and issues, schedule updates etc.)
• Good communicator, with an ability to manage key stakeholder relationships
• You are pro-active, organised, have an attention to detail,are a problem solver, multi-tasker, and most of allhavepride and passioninexceptional delivery

Nice to Haves:

• Relevant tertiary qualification, and/or a PM certification (e.g. PMP, CSM, PRINCE2, Lean Six Sigma).
• Background within the transport sector would be an advantage.

This is a fixed-term role until 30 June 2028. This role is based in a hybrid environment, with 50% of your time based from one of our ‘base’ offices at Parramatta Square and/or Macquarie Park.This is a Grade 8 role, paying between $141,678.00 - $158,677.00 + super. The grade level will be assessed based on your relevant skills, experiences, capabilities, and qualifications etc.
