The Department of Defence is seeking an APS 6 Project Officer to lead coordination of governance, information management, enterprise risk, and continuous improvement across the Integrated Warfighting Network Systems Program Office.
You will maintain integrated plans, governance materials, risks, issues, actions, decisions, dependencies, financial information and benefits records, working with multidisciplinary teams across business, operational, digital, IT, procurement and legal.
An APS 6 Project Officer works independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of their outcomes, exercising initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. Working within a small, high-performing team that directly supports delivery of capability, you will lead the coordination of key business functions, governance activities, information management, enterprise risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position supports delivery across the Program's three workstreams by maintaining integrated plans, governance materials, risks, issues, actions, decisions, dependencies, financial information and benefits records.
The role works with multidisciplinary teams, including business, operational, digital, technology, information management, finance, procurement, legal, change and assurance specialists. The Project Officer is critical to ensuring that program information is accurate, current and visible; governance activities are well coordinated; and agreed actions and decisions progress within required timeframes. The successful candidate is organised, adaptable and produces concise, decision-ready materials in a complex project.
Integrated Warfighting Network Systems Program Office (IWNSPO) is responsible for the acquisition, integration and sustainment of command, and control warfare systems for the Australian Defence Force across the country and in operational theatres overseas.
These capabilities include computer applications that support planning and conduct of operations, including IT infrastructure and command and control systems for deployed military forces across the five Domains. IWNSPO acquires and sustains joint-information warfare capabilities that are mission critical to all three services of the Australian Defence Force.
This role ensures that project activities are delivered efficiently by maintaining documentation, tracking progress, supporting reporting, and coordinating stakeholders across the project lifecycle.
