Job summary

WB Infrastructure, a civil and water infrastructure contractor, is seeking a Project Manager to own delivery from mobilisation through to completion for water authorities and local government projects in NSW. The role involves coordinating a project delivery team and working closely with engineers, supervisors and contracts managers to ensure milestones and KPIs are achieved.

Job description

You will take ownership of projects from mobilisation through to completion and be responsible for coordinating all aspects of project delivery. The successful candidate will be accountable for the overall delivery of their projects and will work within an established project delivery team, supported by a Site Supervisor, Project Engineer and Contract Manager. Projects are delivered for major water authorities and local government clients. Most projects are currently located throughout the Sydney metropolitan area, with the potential to manage projects approximately 1-1.5 hours from Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Taking overall accountability for the successful delivery of assigned projects
• Managing project programs, budgets, resources and delivery outcomes
• Coordinating day-to-day construction activities with the Site Supervisor
• Working closely with the Project Engineer on technical, quality and project documentation requirements
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers, plant and materials
• Monitoring project costs, forecasts, productivity and financial performance
• Managing variations, claims and commercial matters
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, councils, authorities and key stakeholders
• Ensuring project milestones, KPIs and contractual obligations are achieved
• Identifying project risks early and implementing appropriate mitigation measures

About you

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil construction, utilities, water or infrastructure
• Experience delivering watermain, pipeline, plumbing or underground utility projects
• Strong project planning and construction management capability
• Experience managing supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and field crews
• Strong commercial awareness, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting and variations
• Ability to take ownership and be accountable for project outcomes
• Strong client and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to identify and resolve project risks and delivery issues
• Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Plumbing or a related discipline will also be highly regarded
• A senior delivery role with genuine ownership and accountability
• Support from an established Project Engineer, Site Supervisor and Contract Manager structure
• Exposure to major water infrastructure clients and projects
• A strong pipeline of watermain renewal and civil infrastructure work
