Job summary

Sandy Evans Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager (Roads) for the Flinders Shire, based in Hughenden. You will deliver TMR road projects, ensuring compliance with standards, budgets and schedules, and coordinate with the Director of Engineering. Regional and remote site experience is essential.

This role offers generous salary, 5 weeks annual leave with loading, a 9-day Fortnight, subsidised accommodation, a company vehicle for work and private use, and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or Project Management.
  • Demonstrated experience in road construction works; TMR project experience highly regarded.
  • Experience working in regional and remote locations.
  • Strong working knowledge of TMR specifications, Construction Management systems and compliance reporting.
  • Proven planning and programming skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen — cost management and financial reporting.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with AutoCAD or GIS software desirable.
  • Unrestricted Drivers’ Licence.
  • Workplace Health and Safety Construction Industry Certification (Blue Card or White Card)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Civil Works Coordinator to ensure delivery of TMR projects within cost and time parameters.
  • Responsible for the management and implementation of Projects Quality, Safety and Environmental Management systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation and record keeping.
  • Project planning and programming.
  • Prepare project cost estimations and budgets and prepare, monitor and report on cash flows.
  • Assist in the development of the works program, review and update on a regular basis to reflect progress against the base line programs.
  • Review and update budgets and cash flows on a regular basis to accurately reflect works program.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the primary purpose of this role is to manage the effective and efficient delivery of TMR projects and other contract works across the Flinders Shire. You will ensure projects are delivered in accordance with relevant TMR standards, technical specifications, Council policy and construction management systems.

What you'll own:
