Job summary

Synergie Australia seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee an industrial recommissioning program in Darwin. The role covers capital and site improvement projects from planning through commissioning and handover, with hands-on delivery across industrial environments.

You will coordinate contractors, manage schedules and budgets, ensure safety and compliance, and report progress to senior leadership. A mechanical/process background and strong stakeholder management are highly regarded.

Project Manager – Industrial Projects | Darwin NT

Synergie Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a key industrial recommissioning project alongside a number of smaller capital and site improvement projects in Darwin.


This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with experience across industrial, processing, manufacturing, waste or heavy operational environments, with responsibility for projects from planning through to commissioning and handover.


About the Role

Key responsibilities will include:



  • Manage the day‑to‑day delivery of capital, recommissioning and improvement projects.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones and priorities.

  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, materials and site resources.

  • Manage project scope, variations, budgets and forecast costs.

  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, civil and operational workstreams.

  • Ensure contractor documentation, SWMS/JSEAs, permits, isolations and LOTO requirements are compliant.

  • Manage project risks, issues and actions.

  • Work closely with Operations, HSE, Engineering, Procurement and external contractors.

  • Support commissioning, safety reviews, operational handover and project close‑out.

  • Provide regular reporting across progress, costs, risks and upcoming milestones.


About You

We’re looking for someone with:



  • Previous Project Management experience within an industrial or heavy operational environment.

  • Experience delivering brownfield capital or plant improvement projects.

  • Strong contractor and vendor management skills.

  • Experience managing schedules, budgets, variations and project risks.

  • Understanding of permits, isolations, LOTO and contractor safety requirements.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Current Australian Driver's Licence and White Card.

  • Relevant Engineering, Construction or Project Management qualifications, or equivalent industry experience.


A mechanical or process engineering background would be highly regarded, as would experience across electrical, automation, plant commissioning or recommissioning projects.
