Job summary

Harvey Norman is expanding its Information Technology team to progress the online capability of its renowned Australian retail platform. Based on-site at Homebush West, you will lead projects from initiation through to delivery, ensuring alignment with scope, budget and schedule while upholding quality standards.

You will partner with business and technology stakeholders, manage vendor relationships, and drive customer satisfaction across multi-project portfolios in a large retail environment.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in delivering eCommerce projects in medium to large retail organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage scope, budget and schedule to meet business objectives.
  • Experience with project delivery frameworks (waterfall/agile/hybrid).
  • Solid understanding of retail systems including payment gateways, inventory and order management.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the strategic liaison aligning business, IT, technology work streams and external suppliers.
  • Provide resource and budget plans to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage schedules, risks and issues using standard project management tools.
  • Provide project updates and reports at regular intervals.
  • Lead monthly steering committee meetings with senior stakeholders including C-level executives.
  • Manage communications with stakeholders at all levels and facilitate workshops.
  • Create business cases to deliver recommended solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.

About the role

Join our growing Information Technology team as we undertake a significant and challenging program of work focused on progressing our online capabilities. Here, you will find satisfaction and purpose by advancing the eCommerce platform for one of Australia’s largest retailers. Your skills and experience will be pivotal to the team’s success.

Reporting to the Projects Delivery Manager and based onsite at our corporate office in Homebush West, you will lead and manage projects to successful completion, ensuring they stay within the agreed scope, budget, and schedule, all while adhering to the Project Delivery Framework’s quality standards. You'll develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, drive customer satisfaction, and manage external vendor relationships to ensure seamless project execution.

About you

You will be an experienced Project Manager with extensive eCommerce domain experience with a proven track record delivering key business and technology projects on time and within budget, in medium to large sized retail organisations. You will have a solid understanding of retail systems, including payment gateways, inventory and order management. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to facilitate meetings, influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and negotiate successful outcomes.

You will also have:

  • Extensive experience working in a structured project delivery environment, with knowledge of project management lifecycles and products implementation methodologies (waterfall/agile/hybrid).
  • A sound understanding of website development lifecycles and operations including analytics, performance, customer support etc.
  • Proven track record of delivering key business and technology projects on time and within budget, within medium to large sized organisations.
  • Proven ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple work streams while simultaneously handling multiple initiatives and prioritising competing deadlines.
  • Experience in issue and risk management, formal status reporting and Steering Committee facilitation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proven ability to estimate project budgets and track, expenditures.
  • Ability to partner effectively with the business to ensure outcomes appropriately meet business requirements.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes i.e. RFP/RFQ.
  • Proven experience in working with external vendors.
