Whether getting the latest electronic gadgets, or furnishing your first home, Harvey Norman® is the place where you can shop with confidence.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Merchandise Planning and based onsite at the Homebush West Corporate Office, you will work within a team that actively monitors data and market trends, working collaboratively with Merchants and Suppliers by forward planning and providing the right quantity replenishment recommendations to be in stock at the right place at the right time. Your role involves allocating products that are already in Australia, which means you’ll be managing the distribution of inventory within the country.

You will also;

  • Work closely with the Merchants to identify the most effective product assortment for their category.
  • Support supplier collaboration efforts aimed to optimise in-stock and inventory objectives.
  • Plan and collaborate with key cross-functional partners for trade decisions to drive sales.
  • Assist in inventory forecasts in conjunction with the Merchants and Suppliers.
  • Work closely with the merchant to effectively oversee and aid in managing the Open to Buy (OTB) budget.
  • Oversee replenishment strategies with Allocator to optimise stock levels and maximise sales.
  • Conduct a weekly/ monthly reforecast to identify risks, opportunities and corrective actions required to achieve financial objectives.
  • Provide timely monthly reporting analysing sales performance, identifying trends and opportunities/risks.
About you

You’re a strategic thinker and a natural problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments. With a keen eye for detail and a passion for uncovering data-driven insights, you’re ready to make an impact at one of Australia’s most iconic retailers.

You will also have;

  • A meticulous approach to merchandise planning, inventory management, allocation, replenishment or a similar analytical retail role, with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Clear and confident communication, able to translate complex ideas into actionable outcomes.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • A knack for navigating challenges and influencing outcomes through thoughtful analysis.
  • Confidence working with digital tools (beyond proficiencies in the Microsoft 365 Suite) and a proactive approach to learning new systems.
  • A deep understanding of retail operations, particularly in large-format stores with extensive product ranges.
  • An instinct for interpreting market trends and aligning them with customer demand.
This opportunity will provide:
  • Salary packaging and novated leasing options for eligible employees.
  • Company paid parental leave for eligible employees.
  • Access to Fitness Passport.
  • Professional development and career progression.
  • Experience working with an Iconic Australian Brand with global success in NZ, Asia, and Europe.
  • A supportive team environment that celebrates diversity and promotes a healthy work and family life balance.
  • Opportunities to make discounted purchases on a great range of products and services.
