Job summary

Shadbolt Group in Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) on major energy and infrastructure projects. You will own end-to-end delivery from planning through commissioning on a 2:1 FIFO roster, guiding multidisciplinary teams and maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of project leadership in SMP, strong commercial and contractual knowledge, and a degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience managing major projects in energy, infrastructure, mining, industrial or oil & gas.
• Demonstrated SMP delivery experience across structural, mechanical and piping scopes.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Sound commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
• Degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering (preferred).
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent qualifications (advantageous).

Responsibilities

Project Manager - Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP)

Lead major energy and infrastructure projects on a 2:1 FIFO roster.

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) expertise to join our growing Energy & Infrastructure team. About The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of SMP project scopes—from planning and engineering coordination through construction, commissioning and handover.

Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster to major infrastructure projects in regional NSW, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams, manage commercial performance, build strong client relationships and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Structural, Mechanical & Piping project scopes from planning through to completion.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasting and resource planning.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction and subcontractor activities.
• Drive outstanding safety performance and ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Manage commercial performance, including variations, claims, forecasting and cost control.
• Oversee construction sequencing, installation quality and productivity.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure quality assurance, inspection and compliance requirements are achieved.
• Prepare project reports and provide regular updates to senior leadership.

About You

You'll be an experienced Project Manager who thrives in a site-based environment and enjoys leading complex projects to successful completion.

You Will Bring

• 8+ years' experience managing major projects within energy, infrastructure, mining, industrial or oil & gas sectors.
• Demonstrated experience delivering Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) scopes.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Sound commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
• A degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualifications (advantageous).
