Job summary

Amida Group is recruiting for a Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to lead fuel and water SMP projects in Sydney. The role covers new build, refurbishments, remediation and upgrades, with project values from smaller works up to $5–$10m and future opportunities up to $20m+.

Candidates should have SMP delivery experience for contractors and strong commercial, contracts and design management skills. You will manage meetings with consultants and subcontractors to ensure client expectations are

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
• 5 to 15+ years' experience delivering projects from start to finish.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate teams.
• Experience delivering greenfield projects.
• Knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements.

A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join their growing business in Sydney.

They work across new build, refurbishments, remediation, upgrades etc. on fuel and water projects and having experience with SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) is ideal. Having experience on fuel SMP projects working for a contractor would be even better. You will be running projects from smaller up to $5m to $10m. Other projects in the future could be $20m+. You will need to have delivered SMP projects prior for a contractor.

As Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, you will need to have strong commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming / planning experience as well as running meetings with consultants and subcontractors to provide a high quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Design comprehensive project programmes and communicate to team
• Project delivery from inception through to completion
• Ensure construction programmes are followed & deliver on project quality to programme
• Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
• Manage project expenditure and cash flow
• Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects
• Design management
• Manage subcontractors on site
• Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
• Produce progress reports
• Deliver and manage client expectations

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
• Minimum 5 to 15 years+ experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish ideally from a Tier 1 or 2 or 3 background
• Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams to deliver high quality projects
• Previous experience delivering greenfield projects
• Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards
• Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Construction Safety Induction (white) card
