Job summary

Public Sector People is seeking a Project Manager – Capital Works in Sydney to deliver a diverse range of infrastructure projects from planning to completion, including streetscape upgrades, public domain works, urban revitalisation, and stormwater initiatives.

You will oversee design management, procurement, contract administration and construction delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to high standards, with strong stakeholder engagement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering streetscape and public domain infrastructure.
• End-to-end project delivery including design and construction.
• Strong procurement and contract administration skills.
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules and multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence and White Card.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of infrastructure projects from planning through delivery.
• Coordinate design, procurement, contracts and construction phases to time and budget.
• Engage with stakeholders and report on progress and compliance.
• Monitor risks, budget, schedules, and quality across multiple projects.

About The Role

As Project Manager – Capital Works, you will be responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects from planning through to completion, with a strong focus on streetscape upgrades, public domain improvements, urban revitalisation projects, road widening works, and stormwater infrastructure projects. The portfolio also includes buildings, town centre upgrades, parks, roads, and other community assets. You will manage the full project lifecycle, including design management, procurement, contract administration, and construction delivery, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The role also involves stakeholder engagement, reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council frameworks.

Key Requirements

• Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, or related field
• Proven experience delivering streetscape, public domain, road widening, stormwater, and broader infrastructure projects through design and construction phases
• End-to-end project delivery experience, including construction management
• Strong procurement and contract administration experience
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple concurrent projects
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
• Current Class C Driver’s Licence and White Card
