Job summary

ANR Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to run multiple civil construction projects concurrently, from award through practical completion. This hands-on role combines project engineering with project management, requiring a deep understanding of technical processes behind each project.

Supported by contracts administration, you will ensure safety, timeliness, budget adherence and quality, while building a track record for larger contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior project role.
• Strong technical understanding of civil construction processes.
• Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects (roads, drainage, concrete works, kerb and gutter, footpaths).
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with independent programs and budgets.
• Proven ability to manage client, consultant, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.
• Current Driver Licence and White Card.

Responsibilities

• Managing multiple civil construction projects concurrently with attention to technical process and sequence.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and requirements for constructability and conflicts.
• Plan, program and coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractors across projects.
• Manage procurement, RFQs, subcontractor engagement and project resourcing.
• Liaise with Councils, Superintendents, Consultants, utility authorities and other stakeholders.
• Monitor budgets, forecast progress, variations and project profitability with contracts support.
• Prepare contractual correspondence, variations and claims with contracts admin support.
• Oversee QA (ITPs, hold/witness points) and WHS/ENV/quality compliance.
• Attend site meetings and provide regular progress reporting to Directors.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Job description

ANR Engineering is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to run multiple civil construction projects concurrently, from award through to practical completion. This is a hands‑on role that combines project engineering with project management. You will need to genuinely understand the technical process behind each project — drawings, specifications, methodology and construction sequencing — not just manage program and budget from a distance, while running several projects at once. You will be supported by our contracts administration team to help manage the commercial and documentation load across projects. Reporting directly to the Director, this role will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the quality expected by ANR Engineering and our clients, while helping build the track record needed to win larger transport and council contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Managing multiple civil construction projects concurrently, understanding the technical process and construction sequence of each.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical requirements to confirm constructability and identify conflicts or gaps before they become problems on site.
• Planning, programming and coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractors across projects.
• Managing procurement, RFQs, subcontractor engagement and project resourcing.
• Liaising with Councils, Superintendents, Consultants, utility authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Monitoring project budgets, forecasting, progress claims, variations and overall project profitability, with contracts administration support.
• Preparing contractual correspondence, variations and claims, working alongside the contracts administration team on documentation and compliance.
• Overseeing quality assurance (ITPs, hold and witness points) and ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and contractual requirements.
• Attending site meetings, coordinating project activities and providing regular progress reporting to the Directors.
• Identifying project risks and implementing practical mitigation strategies.

About you

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, spanning both project engineering and project management.
• Strong technical understanding of civil construction processes — able to read and interrogate drawings, specifications and methodologies, not just manage at program level.
• Demonstrated experience delivering civil infrastructure projects including roads, drainage, concrete works, kerb and gutter, footpaths and public domain works.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, each with their own program, budget and technical requirements.
• Strong understanding of project budgets, forecasting, variations, claims and project profitability.
• Proven ability to manage client, consultant, subcontractor and stakeholder relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
• Sound knowledge of WHS, environmental and quality compliance requirements.
• Current Driver Licence and White Card.
