Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment partners with a leading civil contractor in the Greater Sydney area to recruit a Project Manager for earthworks, residential and industrial subdivisions, road construction, and underground utilities. You will oversee delivery from start to finish, manage schedules and budgets, and lead site teams to deliver safely and to spec.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure projects within a contractor environment.
• Exposure to earthworks, subdivisions, road construction and underground utilities.
• Knowledge of project programming, budgeting, forecasting, contract administration and cost control.
• Strong communication and relationship management skills.
• Proactive problem-solving and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and driving project delivery from commencement through to completion.
• Working closely with site-based teams to ensure safety, efficiency and compliance.
• Managing schedules, budgets, procurement, subcontractors and overall performance.
• Monitoring financial outcomes including forecasting, cost tracking, claims and variations.
• Maintaining relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental requirements and legislation.
• Identifying risks and implementing practical solutions to maintain delivery targets.
• Assisting with tenders, planning and methodologies for upcoming works.
• Providing leadership and support to operational teams to promote a collaborative culture.

We are partnered with a leading civil contractor that have projects across Greater Sydney area. We need someone that can handle projects involving earthworks, residential or industrial subdivisions, road construction, and underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinating and driving project delivery from commencement through to completion
• Working closely with site-based teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification
• Managing project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, subcontractors, and overall project performance
• Monitoring financial outcomes, including forecasting, cost tracking, progress claims, and variations
• Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and key stakeholders
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, environmental requirements, and relevant legislation
• Identifying project risks and implementing practical solutions to maintain delivery targets
• Assisting with tenders, methodology development, and planning for upcoming works
• Providing leadership and support to operational teams while promoting a positive and collaborative culture

Profile

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated experience managing civil infrastructure projects within a contractor environment

• Sound knowledge of project programming, budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and cost control
• Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• A practical and proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes
• A strong focus on workplace health and safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and project management software
• A current Driver Licence and White Card
