Job summary

HR Partners is seeking a Project Manager in Townsville to take full ownership of projects from pre-construction to handover. You will drive program execution, manage budgets and margins, and lead multidisciplinary site and commercial teams to deliver safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role requires 3–5+ years of PM experience in commercial/industrial construction and a Construction Management degree is preferred. Strong contract administration and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years as a Project Manager in commercial and/or industrial construction.
• A degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred.
• Experienced candidates originating from a trade or site management background are encouraged.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery: Lead projects end-to-end, managing design coordination, authorities, approvals, programming, and sequencing.

Commercial & Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and margins. Oversee Head Contract administration, including claims, variations, EOTs, and final accounts.

Procurement & Subcontractors: Drive subcontractor procurement and monitor commercial performance and relationships.

Leadership: Mentor and manage Site Managers, Contracts Administrators, Cadets, and broader project teams.

Risk & Quality: Identify early project risks, implement practical solutions, and champion safety, quality, and smooth handovers.

About You

You are a practical, solutions-focused construction professional who blends strong field knowledge with commercial discipline and team leadership.

Experience: 3-5+ years as a Project Manager in commercial and/or industrial construction.

Technical Skills: Strong methodology, programming capability, and sound Head Contract and subcontract administration skills.

Qualifications: A degree in Construction Management (or related field) is preferred. Experienced candidates originating from a trade or site management background are strongly encouraged to apply.
