Job summary

Randstad partners with a leading Queensland builder to recruit an experienced Project Manager for Townsville. You will own projects from pre-construction through handover, driving programming, commercial management and multidisciplinary team leadership on-site.

Qualified candidates have 3–5+ years in commercial/industrial construction, a Construction Management degree is preferred, and trades/site background candidates are encouraged to apply.

Randstad has partnered with a leading Queensland builder boasting a strong, growing local project portfolio to recruit an experienced Project Manager to join their Townsville team.

About the Role As Project Manager, you will take full ownership of projects from initial pre-construction through to final handover. You will drive program execution, maintain strict commercial management, and lead multidisciplinary site and commercial teams to deliver high-quality outcomes safely and profitably., Project Delivery: Lead projects end-to-end, managing design coordination, authorities, approvals, programming, and sequencing.

Commercial & Financial Management: Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and margins. Oversee Head Contract administration, including claims, variations, EOTs, and final accounts.

Procurement & Subcontractors: Drive subcontractor procurement and monitor commercial performance and relationships.

Leadership: Mentor and manage Site Managers, Contracts Administrators, Cadets, and broader project teams.

Risk & Quality: Identify early project risks, implement practical solutions, and champion safety, quality, and smooth handovers.

About the Candidate

About You You are a practical, solutions-focused construction professional who blends strong field knowledge with commercial discipline and team leadership.

Experience: 3-5+ years as a Project Manager in commercial and/or industrial construction.

Technical Skills: Strong methodology, programming capability, and sound Head Contract and subcontract administration skills.

Qualifications: A degree in Construction Management (or related field) is preferred. Experienced candidates originating from a trade or site management background are strongly encouraged to apply.
