Job summary

Rohde & Schwarz Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead air traffic control and critical infrastructure projects across Australia and New Zealand. You will manage the full project lifecycle, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery meets governance, risk, and commercial objectives.

You will engage customers, develop proposals and CCP plans, and drive continuous improvement in a highly regulated aviation context.

Job description

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Programs, the Project Manager will be responsible for the planning and successful delivery of air traffic control and critical infrastructure projects working with Air Navigation Services providers across Australia and New Zealand. This role focuses predominantly on "below the line" activities with a strong emphasis on technology and capability delivery acquisition, encompassing the full project management lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional project teams and manage all project activities and risks to ensure objectives and outcomes are met.

Monitor and manage project performance across all key metrics, including schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, and benefits realization.

Develop costs, proposals, and plans for Contract Change Proposals (CCPs).

Create contemporary and competitive delivery strategies for bids and tender submissions.

Engage and collaborate with customers to deliver tangible value in support of their key organizational objectives.

Promote continuous improvement and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Ensure strict adherence to governance requirements across all financial and risk management frameworks.

Manage stakeholder engagement, utilizing influence and negotiation skills to achieve alignment.

The Person

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Project Manager with a proven track record of navigating highly complex, compliance-focused environments, particularly within the aviation/aerospace and critical infrastructure industries. With strong commercial acumen and a collaborative leadership style, you will be experienced in leading diverse teams to achieve exceptional outcomes for our customers.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Demonstrated experience managing complex projects to successful and timely completion.

5+ years of experience operating as a Project Manager.

A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Project Management certification (e.g. PMP,AIPM, PRINCE2, MSP, or similar).

Demonstrated experience in "below the line” (Supplier side) or acquisition project management.

Ability to analyse and interpret project performance against agreed plans and develop strategies to achieve outcomes.

Experience preparing professional correspondence, briefs, and reports for internal and external audiences.

Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.

Eligibility to obtain Australian Government Security Clearances (Baseline, NV1, NV2).
